We didn’t plan to chase the storm, but that’s what found us on Jill and my 29th anniversary.
The rain had just cleared that morning, and we found new and unexplored farm roads on our way through Yolo County toward a late afternoon dinner in Winters, CA. Wet roads shimmered as angry clouds parted just enough to reveal the foothills glowing in the distance.
The light was mixed, dramatic—everything felt suspended.
It was simple. Quiet. Beautiful.
Sometimes the best days are when you just drive, notice, and let nature unfold before you.
These are all such powerful photos, Benjamin. I like them all - but that last shot of the signs....really great. Thanks for sharing.
Some great photos! I especially like the first one as the clouds are like a V landing directly behind the tree as if they are pointing to it from both side of the tree! Very cool!
